​The Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences extends its congratulations to Prof. May Bakkar, from the Optometry division at the Department of Allied Medical Sciences, for receiving the Distinguished Teacher Award in the field of contact lenses at the level of Europe, the Middle East and Africa for the year 2023. She received this award for her distinguished scientific and research achievements and contributions in optics and medical contact lenses. Prof. May Bakkar was honored in a special ceremony at the International Scientific Conference of the International Association of Educators of Contact Lenses (IACLE) in the United Kingdom.​
