Open Medical Day in the Children's Village (SOS)

The  Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences organized a free medical day in the Children's Village (SOS) in Irbid as part of its annual community interaction plan, which included the participation of many faculty members and students from many of the college's specializations such as optometry, hearing and speech, occupational therapy, paramedics, and allied dental sciences. The day events included the participation of supervisors and students of the Professional Diploma Program in Art Therapy from the Deanship of Student Affairs. The Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences, Prof. Nihaya Al-Sheyab, inaugurated the activities of this day in the presence of a number of faculty members. Prof. Nihaya was briefed on the activities and medical services provided to the children and youth of the village and its caregivers, and praised the volunteer spirit of the students and their love for serving their local community.

The open medical day activities included many medical examinations and interactive activities, including eye exams, dental health, blood type testing, hearing and speech.  The medical day also included holding a number of training workshops in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid for a number of village youths and a number of caregivers. The students of the Professional Diploma Program for Art Therapy, in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs, conducted interactive activities with the children of the village for drawing and music therapy.​

It is worth noting that all medical examinations are surveys, the results of which have been provided to the village administration, and a number of children will be followed up and transferred to the affiliated clinics of the college to perform comprehensive examinations. In addition, in cooperation with Odeh Opticals, a donation of 30 glasses was made for free. Brushes and toothpaste were also distributed to children.​
