The kick-off meeting was held on Tuesday 27th of March 2024 and w. It was attended by the Center's Director, Professor Majed Abu Zreig, Professor Mutawakel Obeidat, Professor Mohammed Azzam, a group of the center's administrative staff, and representatives from ECO Consult.

During the meeting, the implementation mechanism of the specialized and integrated study related to water governance and management issues was agreed upon. The study will also include a comprehensive and detailed analysis of the political and economic factors affecting the water sector, as well as the most important issues related to transboundary water resources in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Republic of Iraq.

This study, its results, and recommendations are considered the cornerstone for conducting further studies in the countries participating in the Blue Peace Middle East Initiative, which is supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, the strategic partner of the Water Diplomacy Center at the University, within the framework of the Blue Peace Middle East capacity building project.
