On Sunday, November 26, 2023, Dr. Majed Abu Zrieg, Director of the Water Diplomacy Center at the Jordan University of Science and Technology, met with a delegation from Abu-Ghazaleh & Co. Consulting/Member of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization. The delegation was comprised of the company's CEO, Eng. Ibrahim Abu Naffa, Eng. Hussein Al-Shayyab, TAG-GU Manager, and Eng. Jawad Obeidat, Management Consultant. The meeting aimed to discuss potential areas of collaboration and the exchange of consultancy expertise between the two parties.
At the onset of the meeting, Eng. Abu Naffa provided an overview of the company and its consulting services offered to both public and private sectors, spanning various domains, including the water sector. He emphasized the company's involvement in training, consultancy services, and the provision of innovative solutions adhering to international standards.
Dr. Abu Zreig, in response, briefed the delegation about the WDC and its academic contributions in the water domain. He detailed the center's ongoing projects, notably the Blue Peace Middle East Capacity Development project, supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. He also outlined the center's activities, including scientific workshops, cross-border water research, its strategic plan, and its goal of attaining international recognition. The two parties discussed potential collaboration opportunities in relevant fields and explored the prospect of signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation and leverage the consultancy expertise provided by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh & Co Consulting. The meeting concluded with recommendations to organize a collaborative workshop aimed at refining the Water Diplomacy Center's strategic plan toward achieving international recognition. The schedule for this workshop will be determined before the end of the current year.
