Dr. Mahmoud Hammad, the Director of the Center for E-Learning and Open Learning Resources, participates in the Digital Universities Conference in Riyadh
Dr. Mahmoud Hammad, the director of the Center for E-Learning and Open Educational Resources, participated as an invited speaker in the Digital Universities Conference 2023, which was held in the city of Riyadh in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia between the 9 -11/ 10 /2023, and was organized by Times Higher Education (THE) in cooperation with Prince Sultan University, whereas the conference included speakers from academic leaders in the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA).
His Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud inaugurated the Digital Universities Conference, and Professor Dr. Ahmed Yamani, the President of Prince Sultan University, launched the conference, introduced its importance, and welcomed the distinguished participants.
Dr. Mahmoud Hammad spoke about the topic of bridging the digital skills gap in the Middle East and North Africa region for the sake of a sustainable future economy. He also explained the reasons that led to this gap, the challenges that the region faces to bridge this gap, and the decisions that must be taken by governments, decision-makers, and universities in this regard. He also spoke about the necessity of collective work to overcome these difficulties and challenges to reach universities that provide quality digital services and reach a society armed with the required digital skills.
