Participation in the activities of the SOFEX Military Conference and Exhibition 2022 in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone
Under royal patronage, the activities of the SOFEX Military Conference and Exhibition 2022, which will be held between 10/31 and 11/3/2022, were launched in the city of the Special Economic Zone / Aqaba, with the participation of 38 countries, nearly 400 military delegations, and more than 300 companies specialized in the manufacture of defense equipment and weapons, in addition to To more than 13 international pavilions, the University of Science and Technology participated in the Jordanian pavilion of the exhibition, represented by the Dean of Scientific Research, Prof. Tariq Muqtash, the Director of the Nanotechnology Institute, Prof. Burhan Al-Bas, the Deputy Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Hazem Al-Smadi, and from the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects, the Director of the Center, Prof. Muhannad Quwaider, and the Head of the Division The technological incubator and technical support, Eng. Mustafa Al-Saleh, in addition to students from the College of Engineering, Muhammad Moayed Mustafa Al-Omari / Department of Aviation, and Muhammad Nour Ali Salim Tawha within the Innovative projects at the university, where four projects were presented:
Activated carbon fibers and zinc oxide secondary wires as UV protection fabrics.
Electric vehicle charger.
Design and implementation of a fixed wing drone.
Design and implementation of an electric vehicle.
It is worth mentioning that the SOFEX 2022 conference and exhibition, which is considered the thirteenth edition of the exhibition, which is held every two years, was established under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II in 1996 and comes in light of the technological and technical development and the rapid progress in defense industries around the world. It is considered one of the most important international conferences and exhibitions specialized in the field of Equipping and developing equipment for special operations, defense industries and homeland security.
