As part of its ongoing efforts to support innovation and technology, and to promote the presence of pioneering and innovative projects at specialized technical events, the Centre of Excellence for Innovative Projects at the Jordan University of Science and Technology took part in IEEE RAS Day 2026, which was held at the Amman Chamber of Industry on Monday 14 September 2026, under the theme 'Synergy in Innovation', organized by the IEEE RAS Jordan Section.
The Centre's participation took the form of a presentation of the HoverEye project, one of the projects incubated at the Centre, which focuses on developing advanced solutions in the field of search and rescue using autonomous drones, artificial intelligence and computer vision technologies, thereby contributing to the use of modern technologies to access dangerous or hard-to-reach areas and support search and rescue operations and emergency response.
The project was the subject of a special presentation during the day's events, attracting the attention of attendees for its use of modern technologies in developing innovative solutions in the field of robotics and autonomous systems, without the project participating in any of the competitions held as part of the event.
The HoverEye project is supervised by Dr. Ahmad Bani Younes, Director of the Centre of Excellence for Innovative Projects, who was represented at the event by Project Manager Ayham Ibrahim, alongside team members Rayan Bani Younes, Momen Al-Jarrah and Rama Abdel Ghani.
In a related development, the events saw student Momen Al-Jarrah take part in the Kahoot Robotics Competition, where he came third – an achievement that reflects the high standard of excellence and growing interest in robotics and technology applications.
The Centre's Director, Dr. Ahmad Bani Younes, emphasized that the participation of projects incubated at the Centre in specialized events forms an essential part of the Centre's efforts to provide a supportive environment for outstanding projects, and to give their creators the opportunity to showcase their ideas and technical solutions, and to interact with experts and enthusiasts in the fields of innovation, robotics and technology.
The Centre of Excellence for Innovative Projects continues to support promising technology projects, empower students and innovators, and foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, thereby contributing to the development of advanced technological solutions and opening up new horizons for start-ups in the fields of technology and creativity.
