On Sunday 5 July 2026, the Centre of Excellence for Innovative Projects at the Jordan University of Science and Technology launched the training activities for the Smartphone App Development Program, as part of the Digital Skills for a Better Future programme, implemented by DOT Jordan in partnership with the university, and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, supported by UNICEF. The programme is aimed at students and young people aged 17–24.

The training aims to teach participants how to design and develop smartphone applications using the modern Flutter framework, which enables developers to create cross-platform iOS and Android applications with high efficiency, whilst saving considerable time and effort. It also teaches them how to work with graphical user interface concepts and advanced programming using the Dart programming language, and to use deployment and testing tools to ensure the quality of the applications. The eight-week programme comprises 75 hours of training, combining theoretical and practical elements, and culminates in the completion of practical projects that demonstrate the skills acquired by participants during the training period.

​This programme is being delivered as part of the Centre of Excellence for Innovative Projects' mission to equip young people with modern digital skills, foster a culture of innovation and creativity, and prepare a generation of young people capable of meeting the demands of the labor market and contributing to digital transformation and tech entrepreneurship.
