The Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects organizes the NASA Space Apps competition
The NASA Space Apps competition activities kicked off today, Saturday, 5/10/2024, organized by the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects at Jordan University of Science and Technology, which will continue for three days with the participation of (120) students representing 15 teams of university students from various academic disciplines, The competition, which was inaugurated by Professor Muhannad Quwaider, Director of the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects, and attended by the Director of the Administrative Services Department, Mr. Wael Taleilan, aims to encourage students to innovate and think scientifically, by providing innovative solutions to the challenges posed by the US space agency.
Prof. Quwaider said that the Center of Excellence at the university, under the directives of the President of the University, Professor Dr. Khaled Al-Salem, supports these competitions that enhance innovation and open new horizons for students, and stressed that these initiatives provide students with the opportunity to test their ideas and apply their knowledge in a competitive environment, which contributes to developing their practical skills. "We believe that such events contribute to preparing a generation of leaders and innovators capable of contributing to the future of science and technology."
The competition witnessed wide participation from students, as participants formed teams to develop projects that addressed various issues, such as environmental sustainability and space exploration. Workshops and training courses were also provided to the contestants, giving them the opportunity to improve their skills and exchange ideas.
