Under the patronage of Her Excellency Professor Muna Abu Dalo, Vice President of the Jordan University of Science and Technology, on behalf of Professor Khaled Al-Salem, President of the University, sponsor of the ceremony, the closing ceremony of the activities of the Fifth Summer Club 2024 was held on Thursday, August 8, 2024, for the children of university employees who are members of the teaching and administrative staff. An extension of previous summer camps in which hundreds of students, children of workers, participated in various courses, the summer club aims to plant and refine the seed of creativity and leadership in children from a young age.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Professor Dr. Muhannad Qwaider, Director of the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects, presented a summary of the center, its facilities, and the services provided therein to provide the appropriate technical environment to support and nurture creative people from the university and the local community alike, starting from the idea, passing through the prototype of the product or service, and ending with establishing small businesses and launching them commercially. In addition to sponsoring and supporting pioneering and creative initiatives that benefit the university or the local community and contribute to solving economic, social, academic or health problems.
Certificates were distributed to students who are children of faculty and administrative staff members working at the university and participating in the training courses, in addition to honoring the students who volunteered to give these courses by Professor Dr. Mona Abu Dalo, Vice President of the University, in the presence of Professor Dr. Muhannad Qwaider, Director of the Center, and Mr. Wael Tlilan, Director of the Services Department. It is worth noting that the number of student participants in the fifth summer club this year reached 272 male and female students from various age groups from six to sixteen years. They participated over a period of five weeks in 28 repeated courses, which are as follows:
