Signing a Memorandum of Understanding with IREX to manage the Higher Education project for Growth and Innovation
Jordan University of Science and Technology and (IREX) signed a memorandum of understanding to manage the Higher Education for Growth and Innovation (HEIG) project, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The memorandum was signed by a representative of the University President, Prof. Khalid El-Salem, the Vice President, Prof. Muna Abu-Dalo, and from IREX, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, the HEIG Project Manager.
The memorandum included cooperation and coordination in managing the project, which will extend for five years. Knowing that, Jordan University of Science and Technology has been chosen as a primary partner of the Higher Education Institution (HEI) for the first cycle, which focuses on the sustainable agricultural food security sector. This selection came after a rigorous review process and was based on the strengths demonstrated by the university and its alignment with the goals and objectives of the HEIG program in the specific sector. Through the project, the university will improve core functions and form more impactful partnerships with the private sector to create more job opportunities for university graduates. Knowing that the project management will be through the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects and in coordination with the College of Agriculture.
