A workshop on intellectual property rights was held in the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects in cooperation with the Academia Industry Platform (JAIP), inside the university campus at the Center's headquarters on Monday, 5/6/2024, in the presence of the Director of the Center, Professor Muhannad Quwaider, and Dr. Khaled Khraisat, Founder & General Manager at Academia Industry Platform. Professor Quwaider welcomed the attendees and provided an explanation of the services provided at the center, specifically about intellectual property rights and patents and how to commercialize them, as the workshop targeted interested researchers from faculty members in the colleges and deanships of the Jordan University of Science and Technology, in order to raise the level of quality of the services they provide. And enrich their knowledge about issues related to intellectual property and acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to protect their intellectual property and exploit it economically. Among the most prominent topics discussed were how to evaluate patents in terms of material value, and the criteria for evaluating the readiness of patents for commercialization and marketing, in addition to the importance of protection elements in evaluating commercialization.
The workshop was presented by Dr. Khaled Khraisat. It is worth mentioning that Dr. Khaled Khraisat is one of the members of the Council of the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects, and this workshop comes within the partnership and cooperation agreement between the university and the Platform for Integrating Academia with Industry.
