Signing a cooperation agreement between the Jordan University of Science and Technology and Plan International in Jordan
On the sidelines of its visit to the Jordan University of Science and Technology, Plan International in Jordan and the university signed on Sunday, 3/17/2024, a joint cooperation agreement aimed at enabling Jordanian youth of both genders and young Syrian refugees to start their commercial projects and establish their own companies through the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects. At the university, this is within the framework of the university's efforts to achieve sustainable development by providing the appropriate technical environment that supports creativity in various fields, and increasing its contribution to the gross domestic product.
The agreement, which was signed by a representative of the University President and Vice President, Professor Muna Abu Dalo, in the presence of the Director of the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects, Professor Muhannad Quwaider, and on behalf of the organization, the Director of the Organization's Office in Jordan, Mrs. Hamida Jahama, aims for Jordanian students and Syrian refugee students to receive a grant consisting of financial support. and technicians, to help them start their commercial projects and establish companies based on their ideas and initiatives, in order to provide job opportunities for students and contribute to reducing the unemployment rate, within the framework of the “Our Success" program managed by the organization.
During the signing of the agreement, Dr. Abu Dalo stressed that the university is keen to implement real partnerships aimed at developing businesses and opportunities and building on them as a model of the university's mission vision, praising the role of this type of program, which is represented in empowering young people, especially those affected by the conflict, Syrian refugees, by enhancing opportunities. Obtaining job opportunities and starting their own business projects.
It is worth noting that signing such agreements comes within the policy and keenness of the University of Science and Technology to encourage entrepreneurship and enable community members to create and manage entrepreneurial projects, in addition to building and supporting the capabilities of entrepreneurs through specialized educational and training programs.
