Organizing a dialogue symposium on streamlining the outcomes of scientific research
On Wednesday 10/4/2023, the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects at the University of Science and Technology organized a dialogue symposium on intellectual property rights and their role in achieving sustainable development and on how to monetize the outcomes of scientific research. The Director of the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects, Professor Muhannad Quwaider, stated that the goal of this symposium is to achieve one of the center's strategic goals, which is to preserve the university's intellectual property rights, which begins with spreading awareness and the culture of intellectual property in the university community. The Director of the Intellectual Property Commercialization Office at the Royal Scientific Society, Dr. Mohammad Al-Jafari, spoke about the current state of intellectual property policies in Jordan and the strategies for commercializing the outputs of scientific research, including patents.
The attendees discussed real success stories about how to transform research ideas into registered commercial products and successful, profitable companies. The symposium was attended by a number of faculty and administrative staff members at the university, in addition to the center's staff.
The Center organizes such seminars as part of its policy of spreading the culture of leadership and creativity, encouraging those with ideas and patents, and directing them to the right path to achieve the desired goal.
