The opening of the training workshop on intellectual property rights, organized by the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects and the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO).
A training workshop organized by the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects and Jordanian Enterprise Development of Economic Projects Corporation (JEDCO) was opened on Sunday, 8/27/2023, in the presence of the Director of the Center, Prof. Muhannad Quwaider and Mr. Muti' Ghunaimat Assistant Executive Director of JEDCO, and it is worth noting that this program is a specialized training program on intellectual property rights (IPR) within the framework of the IPMED project, where Prof. Quwaider welcomed the attendees and gave an explanation about the services provided in the center, specifically about intellectual property rights and patents, and how It is commercialized in partnership with the Royal Scientific Society, where the program targeted interested faculty members in the faculties and deanships of Jordan University of Science and Technology, executive directors of small and medium enterprises and companies, in addition to young entrepreneurs and the women's sector in Irbid governorate, in order to raise the level of quality of services they provide and enrich their knowledge about Complex issues related to intellectual property and acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills to protect their intellectual property and exploit it economically.
The four-day training workshop will be presented by Mr. Konstantinos Vavekis, Director of the PRAXI Network and European patent attorney qualified by EQE, who has extensive experience in the protection and exploitation of intellectual property, and Dr. Panagopulos Andreas, Head of the Knowledge Transfer Office KTO at the University of California, and Professor Participant in the Department of Economics and founder and head of TECHNIS, a multidisciplinary research organization working in the field of innovation and intellectual property. From the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, Dr. Manal Al-Saub, Dr. Muhammad Al-Jaghiber and Ms. Maysa Al-Saba.
The training program will focus on particularly critical topics such as intellectual property protection and enforcement, alternative methods for industrial property protection and selection of appropriate strategy, economic evaluation and commercialization of industrial property, innovation policy design, etc.
