Conclude the activities of the Dutch Award for Youth Creativity (DYIA)
Under the patronages of Prof. Ahmed Al-Ajlouni, Vice President of the Jordan University of Science and Technology, on Wednesday 8/9/2023, the activities of the Dutch Award for Youth Creativity (DYIA) were concluded in the presence of the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Prof. Anas Al-Nabulsi, and the Director of the Center of Excellence for Creative Projects, Prof. Muhannad Quwaider, as part of The activity of the project "Creating Attractive Opportunities for Youth Livelihoods in the Agriculture Sector" (COOL - YA) funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Jordan and implemented by the Finnish Relief Organization in partnership with the Jordan University of Science and Technology, the Jordanian Agricultural Engineers Association, and the Jordanian Fruit and Vegetable Exporters and Producers Association, from In order to enhance communication with sectors of the local community.
The ceremony included an exhibition of the projects of creative ideas participating in the award, which aims to find solutions to post-harvest problems in the Jordanian agricultural sector. The award targeted Jordan University of Science and Technology, Al-Balqa Applied University, University of Jordan and Jerash University. 26 teams competed for six financial prizes of 4000 Jordanian dinars per team. During the ceremony, all details related to the award were reviewed by the award coordinator, Ms. Raneem Al-Nuaimi, which was launched a year ago with its six axes, in addition to the evaluation mechanism of the committee formed in this regard. Universities and the academic staff supervising the projects of the participating teams and participating students were honored. The award was awarded by the Director of the Office of the Finnish Relief Organization in Jordan, Ms. Jihan Al-Zaben, in the presence of the representative of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Jordan, Ms. Enas Al-Saeed.
Prof. Muhannad Quwaider emphasized the importance of activating the role of youth in establishing pioneering projects and innovative ideas that support the agricultural sector, and the need to link academic institutions with the private sector and working organizations in order to improve the quality of the agricultural sector in Jordan.
At the end of the ceremony, the winning teams were awarded prizes by Prof. Ahmed Al-Ajlouni, Vice President of the University.
