On Monday, 22/5/2023, the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects organized an introductory meeting on the "Mashreq Starts" program, which is a pioneering program that provides mentorship, guidance, investment opportunities, and commercial support for aspiring entrepreneurs. This program was launched to support a new generation of male and female entrepreneurs in the countries of the Arab Levant, Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq. The program, which is the first of its kind, targets the widest segment of society in Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq without discrimination equally, focusing on women, refugees, forcibly displaced people, and various minorities who have entrepreneurial ideas and emerging projects from the age group 18-45 years old. To develop their ideas and projects, the session was attended by a group of university students from various disciplines, in addition to the center's staff. The session included an explanation of all the activities offered by the program to empower entrepreneurs in the Arab East, how to find entrepreneurial ideas and their sources, and to examine the market need for them.
It is worth mentioning that the Director of the Center, Prof. Muhannad Quwaider, had welcomed the Flat6Labs program team from the sister Republic of Egypt and the attendees, and added that these sessions come in the context of the Center's efforts and policy to spread the culture of entrepreneurship in the university community.
