The Council of the center of excellence of innovative projects holds its first meeting​

The Council of the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects held its first meeting chaired by the President of the University, Professor Dr. Saeb Khreisat, and the attendance of the members of the Council. Prof. Khreisat started the meeting with a welcome note and spoke of university’s implementation of the visions of His Majesty King Abdullah II concerning entrepreneurship, leadership, and creativity.

During the meeting, the university president, Dr. Khreisat, reviewed with the council members the goals of the center and the services that it provides that benefit the university and the local community and contribute to solving economic, social, academic and health problems.

During the meeting, several issues on the meeting’s agenda were discussed, including the annual report of the center / 2019, approval of the budget and the amendment of the instructions of the center and adopting the entrepreneurship course as a mandatory requirement for all students at the university to encourage a culture of leadership and creativity, and the need to open the door of the center to all members of the local community to encourage this culture.

The Director of the Center of Excellence for Creative Projects, Dr. Muhannad Al-Jarrah, said that the center’s board includes an elite of faculty and businessmen represented by the Vice President of the University, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Abaini, and the Dean of Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Wedyan, and Professor Dr. Fahmy Abu Al-Rab, CEO of the Applied Scientific Research Fund, The Director of the Center for Excellence for Creative Projects, Dr. Muhannad Al-Jarrah, Dr. Penelope Shehab, CEO of "Monogo", Dr. Tayseer Younis, CEO of Pharmington Pharmaceutical Industries, and Eng. Murad Al-Samman, General Manager of the Smart Company for Indian Services Sieh, and Ms. Zain Awamleh Director of the Directorate of Protection of Industrial Property, and Mr. Ziad Alawneh, Director of Center of the Earth and Man.

The University President, Prof. Dr. Saeb Khreisat said that Jordanian University of Science and Technology seeks to excel and stimulate creativity among its students who have initiatives that will bring about change in their societies.

Recently, the center achieved a distinguished achievement by winning the first place in the award of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak for excellence and social intelligence in the category of supporters of youth issues / UAE.

Dr. Khreisat expressed his happiness at the achievement praising the great role of the Center in preparing for participation in this competition by organizing awareness meetings on the award and using modern strategies in preparing the application for candidacy.

The Director of the Center for Excellence for Creative Projects, Dr. Muhannad Al-Jarrah, pointed out that the award included 52 main and sub-criteria and the University of Science and Technology won the first place among 3090 candidates from different countries.
