November 27 – The University of Science and Technology topped the 2025 Entrepreneurship Competition for Jordanian university students after the MargiClear team won first place in Global Entrepreneurship Week, organized by the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sumaya bint Al Hassan.
During the closing ceremony, Her Royal Highness honored the winning team MargiClear from the University of Science and Technology, which includes medical students Sarah Abu Al-Ainin, Nour Al-Bazour, and Amer Maqbala, in recognition of their pioneering project, which stood out as one of the most important projects participating this year.
The MargiClear project offers an innovative solution based on an AI-powered system capable of instantly assessing tumor margins during surgery, enabling doctors to make accurate decisions during surgery, reducing the need for additional procedures, and contributing to improved recovery rates and quality of care.
This innovation represents a quantum leap in the integration of technology with medicine, providing a fast and reliable diagnostic tool that supports precision medicine applications. The project demonstrated clear excellence during the judging stages, both in terms of scientific innovation, applicability, and expected social impact.
The ceremony also honored the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects (CEIP) at the University of Science and Technology, in recognition of its role as a key partner in organizing Global Entrepreneurship Week events and its efforts in training students and building their entrepreneurial skills.
The center is one of the most prominent university incubators supporting the transformation of innovative ideas into viable projects for growth and investment, through specialized training programs, workshops, and mentoring sessions.
The MargiClear team underwent an intensive series of training programs organized by the Center of Excellence, which contributed to developing their skills and transforming their idea into a viable and scalable entrepreneurial project.
This achievement reflects the University of Science and Technology's advanced presence in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship, cementing its position as a leading academic institution that places student empowerment and the development of their entrepreneurial projects at the heart of its priorities. It also confirms the university's keenness to provide a supportive and stimulating environment that enables its students to transform their ideas into practical solutions that contribute to serving the community and strengthening the national innovation ecosystem.
