Students from Jordan University of Science and Technology win the Community Impact Award at the Mafraq Artificial Intelligence Hackathon 2025
On Sunday, October 26, 2025, a group of students from the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology at Jordan University of Science and Technology, namely Raghad Al-Sharawna, majoring in artificial intelligence, Bushra Dheiba, majoring in software engineering, Yasmine Abu Zeid, majoring in Cybersecurity, and Marah Al-Omari, majoring in Computer Science, won the Community Impact Award for the best projects submitted to the Mafraq Artificial Intelligence Hackathon. The award was presented by Mr. Wael Tilan, Director of Administrative Services at the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects, for their participation in a project entitled “Digital Assessment System" after competing in a creative competition in the fields of programming, technology, and innovation and passing several stages of the competition organized by the Jordanian Engineers Association, Mafraq Branch, under the patronage of the Governor of Mafraq, in cooperation with the Afaq Technology team and the Provincial Council. Forty-five teams qualified for the final stage after competing with more than 100 teams from various universities and schools.
The students' participation comes within the framework of the university's support for promoting digital innovation, empowering young people, and motivating them to provide innovative technological solutions that serve national development and Jordanian society.
