Under the patronage of the University Vice President, Professor Muna Abu Dalo, and organized by the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects and the Nanotechnology Institute, in cooperation with the Computing Club (CTC) at the Deanship of Student Affairs, and under the direct supervision of Dr. Ahmed Bani Younis, the first-of-its-kind drone competition was launched today, Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the Jordan University of Science and Technology. Nine teams participated. The competition aimed to encourage creativity and innovation in the field of drone technology and develop students' skills in designing, programming, and operating drones for various purposes. It also aimed to promote teamwork and a spirit of positive competition among students, linking academics with practical application, thus contributing to the preparation of qualified personnel capable of keeping pace with modern technological developments. In turn, the Vice President expressed the University's pride in contributing to providing the opportunity for talented students from various disciplines to work together, adding that this competition, the first of its kind at the Jewel of Universities, provided students with a unique opportunity to showcase their skills and creativity and apply what they have learned in a collaborative, practical way. At the conclusion, the Vice President, in the presence of the Director of the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects and the Dean of the Nanotechnology Institute, honored the top three winning teams.
