Under the patronage of Her Excellency Prof. Muna Abu-Dalo, Vice President of Jordan University of Science and Technology, on behalf of Prof. Khalid El-Salem, President of the University, the sponsor of the ceremony, the activities of the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects, which are held on the sidelines of the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2024, were launched today, Sunday, 11/17/2024. The Vice President of the University, Prof. Muna Abu-Dalo, stressed the importance of entrepreneurship as a fundamental pillar for advancing the national economy and supporting young people to achieve their ambitions, noting that the university always seeks to spread entrepreneurial thinking and entrepreneurial leadership among students, by providing the necessary support for innovative and entrepreneurial ideas and projects in the university community and the local community.
The Director of the Center of Excellence for Creative Projects, Prof. Muhannad Quwaider, explained that the university, through the center, seeks through these activities to enhance the culture of entrepreneurship among students, and encourage them to present their creative ideas and benefit from the services provided by the center, including technical and financial support, business accelerator and patents, in addition to participating in training workshops held at the center to develop their entrepreneurial skills and achieve their ambitions in the labor market.
The opening ceremony included many activities, most notably the presentation of success stories by Ms. Alaa Thalji from Lemonin Water Treatment Technology Company, Engineer Ayat Badarna from Tarmeem Bio-Organic Fertilizer Company, student Osama Ahmed, owner of the fire-fighting drone project, and student Karim Al-Hamouri, owner of The Barley Planters Company. The projects incubated in the technology incubator and the distinguished projects of students from the university's colleges were also presented. The university students who won the first three places in the Entrepreneurship and Creativity Hackathon organized by Abdelhamid Ben Badis University in the Algerian Republic were honored by Professor Dr. Mona Abu Dalo, Vice President of the University, in the presence of Professor Dr. Muhannad Qwaider, Director of the Center, and Mr. Wael Talilan, Director of the Administrative Services Department at the Center. They are (Ansam Al-Zaytawi, Aseel Ziyad, Batoul Anab from the College of Computer and Information Technology, Rand Abdul Jabbar from the College of Science and Arts, Osama Ahmed, Abdul Rahman Al-Qarani and Ziad Ghaith from the College of Engineering). It is worth noting that the Global Entrepreneurship Week is a global event during which Through innovation, creativity and support for entrepreneurs, it aims to stimulate pioneering ideas and transform them into projects on the ground, which contributes to strengthening the national economy.
