In a pioneering initiative aimed at enhancing social accountability and governance in the healthcare sector, the Center for Sustainable Development Studies and Technology (CSDST) at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) organized a dynamic "Focus Group" activity at the King Abdullah University Hospital (KAUH) in Al-Ramtha District.
Led by Dr. Suhaib Al-Omari, a faculty member in the Faculty of Pharmacy at the university, the event featured interactive discussions and valuable insights from patients and clients. Participants engaged in an exchange of open-ended questions and constructive suggestions, fostering a collaborative environment for advancing healthcare governance.
The session delved into the development and application of a comprehensive portfolio of social accountability tools within the healthcare domain. Attendees explored mechanisms aimed at augmenting governance practices and social accountability standards within hospital clinics.
This groundbreaking activity marks a pivotal milestone in the ongoing fourth phase of the project titled "Developing Efficient Social Accountability Strategies for Better Health Outcomes within Jordan." Spearheaded by the CSDST, this initiative is dedicated to identifying and implementing innovative tools and strategies to bolster governance and social accountability across Jordan's healthcare landscape.
Moreover, this project is part of the broader "Nazaha" initiative, aimed at fostering community accountability and empowering civil society institutions to achieve good governance. Implemented in collaboration with the esteemed Al-Hayat Center -Rased, and co-funded by the European Union Delegation to Jordan and the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development (AECID), the initiative underscores a collective commitment to driving positive change and societal empowerment.
