بحث التعاون بين جامعة التكنولوجيا ورودترست/جامعة أكسفورد

التقى رئيس جامعة العلوم والتكنولوجيا الأردنية الدكتور محمود الشياب وفد رود ترست / جامعة اكسفورد البريطانية، برئاسة مسؤولة الابتعاث السيدة ماري ايتون والمسؤولة الإقليمية لبعثة رودز ترست Rhodes Trust والسيدة ليليان شماس والوفد المرافق.

وجرى خلال اللقاء بحث افاق التعاون والتنسيق بين الجامعة وجامعة اكسفورد خاصة في مجال تعزيز التعاون الأكاديمي والبحث العلمي وتبادل الطلبة.

كما والتقى الوفد عمداء الكليات في الجامعة، استعرض خلالها شروط الحصول على المنح المقدمة من برنامج رودز ترست والذي مقره في جامعة أكسفورد البريطانية.

وقال مدير مكتب العلاقات الدولية عضو هيئة التدريس في قسم الهندسة المدنية في جامعة العلوم والتكنولوجيا الأستاذ الدكتور ماجد ابو زريق ان هذه المنح والتي خصصت للطلبة المتميزين في العالم ركزت على جامعة العلوم والتكنولوجيا بشكل خاص لما تتمتع بالجامعة من سمعة عالمية تحقق معايير الجودة والاعتماد الدولي.

وبين الدكتور أبو زريق ان هذه الزيارة تهدف تعزيز سبل التعاون الأكاديمي مع جامعة اكسفورد البريطانية على مستوى اعضاء هيئة التدريس والطلبة.

وزار الوفد مكتبة الجامعة استمع من مديرها المهندس رائد الزعبي عن الخدمات التي تقدمها المكتبة لأعضاء هيئة التدريس والطلبة والمجتمع المحلي.

وأعرب الوفد الضيف عن إعجابه بالمستوي المتقدم الذي تحظى به جامعة العلوم والتكنولوجيا، متمنيا لها مزيدا من التقدم على المستوى الإقليمي والدولي

 Rhodes Trust call for application/Rhodes Scholarship to study at the University of Oxford. 

The Rhodes Scholarship, one of the oldest and most prestigious international scholarships in the world, is to be offered for the first time to students from Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine. The Rhodes Scholarship is a postgraduate award supporting outstanding students with leadership potential to study at the University of Oxford. 

A delegation of six representatives visited JUST to introduce the Scholarship, its vision and requirements on May 24. The delegation met with the President prof Mahmoud Al Shyab and the Director of International Relations Office prof. Majed Abu-Zreig. The delegation also conduct a high level meeting with Deans of colleges followed by a meeting with about 30 outstanding students from various colleges and departments. The delegation pointed out that In addition to having outstanding academic achievements, applicants are also required to have energy to develop their talents to the full, qualities such as truth, courage and devotion to duty, as well as moral force of character.

This new opportunity for this region, provides our outstanding students an avenue to further their skills, and learn from the diverse Rhodes and Oxford community, as well as contribute their perspectives to the ongoing discourses around the various pressing issues of our times. 

It is worth mentioning that Dr Farnaz Sabet/Faculty of Medicine at JUST has won Rhodes Scholarship and is available to help our students applying for the Scholarship​
