Professor Mahmoud Al-Sheyyab met with a delegation representing the American Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA).  Prof. Mahmoud thanked DTRA and JUST partners who significantly contributed to the establishment of the new training divisions at Princess Haya Biotechnology Center (PHBC). Dr. Mahasneh, PHBC director, thanked the team for agreeing to provide additional funding to complete the renovation inside the building and providing service contracts for the main equipments and systems.  Dr. Mahasneh emphasized the necessity for the continuous support of the training activities at JUST and how JUST partners can contribute to the sustainability of the new divisions through marketing of the various training opportunities.  Dr. Ada Bacetty, Deputy Program Manager for EUCOM and CENTCOM and Mr. Andrew Dorau, the Country Manager for Jordan and Iraq expressed their organization’s gratitude to PHBC for the great effort in hosting the trainings and they pledged support to the new divisions and to the activities carried out in the building.

The meeting was also attended by the Dr. Jeanne Fair (Science Lead Middle East & South Asia), Mr. Ryan Callanan (AS&S support), Dr. Shakir Jawad (Senior Adviser) and Mr. Chris Thompson (Bio-surveillance SME).
