JUST won three awards in the 10th National Technology Parade, which is an annual student project competition for the Jordanian universities, held in the Jordan German University on Thursday May 4, 2017.
Project titled "Collaborative Mobile Robot Swarm" won the first place award in the "Intelligent Systems" category by students: Ammar Omar, Mohammad Nasrallah, Alaa' Abu-Hantash, and Abrar Al-Taj; supervised by Dr. Fahed Awad from the Department of Network Engineering and Security, Faculty of Computer and Information Technology.
Project titled "Use of waste Hexaflourosilicic acid as a silica precursor for silica coated magnetic nanoparticles" won the first place award in the "Engineering Design and Simulation" category by students: Bayan Alzobidy, Bayan Alkhateeb, and Samia Shqauir; supervised by Dr. Mohannad Al-Jarrah and Dr. Mohammad Alharahshah from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of EngineeringThe project is supported by King Abdullah II for Development (KAFD) in cooperation with KADDB.
Project titled "Device for the Production of Biodiesel Fuel from Waste Cooking Oil" won the third place award in the "Energy and Environmental Technology" category by students Yousef Okour and Mohammad Al-Klaifat; supervised by Dr. Mohammad Al Harahsheh from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering The project is supported by King Abdullah II for Development (KAFD) in cooperation with KADDB.
This year, 66 projects (out of almost 200 projects) in 8 categories were qualified to the final stage of the competition and the top three projects in each category were recognized and awarded. JUST participated in seven projects, four of which were qualified to the final stage.
