The International Relations Office (IRO) at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST)
was established in 2015, to serve the "Internationalization" strategic pillar of its paradigm-shifting Transformation Plan . The Deans' Council at JUST approved the general regulations and organizational chart of the office in December 2018.
The IRO, directly connected to the President's Office, encompasses two major sections; the Academic Exchange Programs section and the International Agreements and Cooperation section. IT Support and Bureau sections complement the work of the aforementioned sections, by offering the much needed technical and logistica groundwork. The office feeds into several key aspects of the overall mission and mision of JUST striving to:
 | Recruit and oversee strategic international partnerships |
 | Manage the staff and student academic exchange process |
 | Procure external research funding opportunities, and, |
 | Promote the university's brand internationally.

Since its establishment, the office has successfully managed to record significant accomplishments in the numbers of agreements signed and/or reactivated, student and staff exchanged, research and capacity building projects recruited, and targeted promotional activities accomplished(i.e., workshops and information sessions). These achievements culminated in holding the First International Staff Week at JUST in April 2019, entitled "A tale of excellence JUST begins", that was attended by 12 European partner institutions, in addition to a host of Jordanian public and private universities.
The discernible impact of the IRO at JUST was explicitly highlighted in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) World University Ranking assessment in 2019, where JUST ranked among the top 400 universities around the world. Indeed, a sensible improvement of JUST in the period 2016 – 2019 was particularly evident in the "International Outlook" index of THE.
