The International Relations Office at JUST participated in the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM) Cluster Meeting under the title "Get Prepared to Next Phase of Erasmus+" which was organized by the National Erasmus Office in Amman on 14th of September 2021.
The National Erasmus+ Office aims to provide the best possible International Credit Mobility (ICM) experience for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), as well as the opportunity for HEIs to learn from others' successful programs, resulting in increased and successful programs with European Universities. Efforts are being made not solely to share best practices within ICM, but also to ensure that the program is more inclusive and that HEIs are better connected.
Ms. Fawzia Amoura, Head of Academic Exchange Programs Section shared the success story of the International Relations Office at JUST and its impact on the university ranking. Ms. Amoura also shared JUST IRO good practices by designing an Academic Exchange Portal for exchange programs where the mobility flow is managed 100% online starting from the call for application, selection and nomination, course registration and course recognition. All procedures are now managed online with zero paper work. This new service has saved time, efforts and made the mobility process easier for both the students and the office.
It is worthy to be mentioned that the IRO managed to sign 250 general agreements with international higher educational institutions, 60 of them are with EU HEIs under the Erasmus+ ICM program. As an impact of the increasing number of agreements, the IRO managed around 500 mobilities (inbound and outbound) since the IRO establishment in 2015.
The meeting was attended by Ms. Corinne Andrea, Head of Cooperation, EU Delegation. And Prof. Mamoun Al-Debe'I, Secretary General at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Thafer Assaraira, President of AQACHEI , Higher Education Reform Expert, Prof. Mahmoud Al-Sheyan, Higher Education Reform Expert, and IRO representatives from Jordanian Universities
