The International Relations Office at JUST has hosted a delegate from two Australian universities; Macquarie University and the University of Sydney, in addition to representatives from the Australian Embassy in Amman, on Monday April 8th, 2019.
The meeting aimed at exploring potential areas of collaboration between the involved parties. A solid framework for an immediate action plan was thoroughly discussed. After a practical analysis of the current status of cooperation between JUST and Australian HEIs, and the barriers faced in optimizing such collaboration in the past, The two Australian institutions offered special and concrete opportunities for the academic staff, as well as the undergraduate and graduate students, at JUST. These include; an expedited matching process for research collaboration and graduate studies, job shadowing offers, and two undergraduate student-oriented exchange programs: the "Study Abroad" and the "Study Tour" programs. Furthermore, representatives of the Australian Embassy in Amman outlined the requirements for acquiring an Australian visa for staff and students, and possible ways of facilitating such process.
