Jordan University of Science and Technology signs a Memorandum of Understanding with The Higher Council for Science and Technology


Jordan University of Science and Technology and the National Fund for Enterprise Support (NAFES), affiliated with the Higher Council for Science and Technology, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), aiming at improving the performance of small and medium private sector enterprises in the Northern region of Jordan by raising their efficiency and increasing their competitiveness.

According to the MoU signed by the University President, Prof. Khalid El-Salem, and the Secretary-General of the Higher Council for Science and Technology, Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, the two parties will work to establish the principles of cooperation between them in various areas of training and capacity building, providing administrative and financial consultations to support the small and medium private sector enterprises and enhancing the capabilities of their employees.

Prof. El-Salem explained that the university focuses on training by holding many courses and workshops, highlighting the university's keenness to support small and medium-sized enterprises, encouraging creative projects and businesses, and providing services to the local community, noting that the university is sparing no effort in order to strengthen its role in social responsibility, and helping medium and small companies performing their national role.

Prof. Al-Refai praised the role played by JUST as a primary partner for various training institutions in the Kingdom, and its pioneering role in focusing on the field of training and sustainable development, stressing the importance of activating the university's role as a pioneering institution in society, and giving the private sector institutions the opportunity to influentially engage in economic development in Jordan.

The fund's director, Nesreen Abu Anza, stated that the memorandum establishes the foundation for building a long-term strategic partnership with the university to achieve common goals in the fields of research, supporting small and emerging projects, and developing their human resources.

The Director of the Consultative Center for Science and Technology at JUST, Prof. Salaheddin Malkawi, highlighted the importance of this cooperation in supporting local industry and other enterprises, which comes under the strategic planning of the university in supporting the local community implementing developmental projects that serve the community.
