A Japanese Cultural Day at Jordan University of Science and Technology

May 11 /// The Deanship of Student Affairs at Jordan University of Science and Technology, in cooperation with the Japanese Embassy in Amman and the Jordanian Association for "JICA" alumni, organized a Japanese cultural day to introduce university students to Japanese culture and civilization.

The day, which was inaugurated by the Japanese Ambassador to Amman, Jiro Okuyama, accompanied by the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Majed Musaeda, included a presentation on the history of Japanese culture, sports and traditions, in addition to a display of Japanese traditional costumes and Japanese music.

The Japanese ambassador had started his visit to the university by meeting its president, Prof. Khalid El-Salem, and discussing ways to develop scientific and research cooperation and exchange experiences between Japanese academic institutions and the university.

Prof. El-Salem said that the celebration of the Japanese Cultural Day comes within the framework of joint and fruitful cooperation between the university and the Japanese Embassy, stressing the university's interest in opening up to international civilizations and introducing students to them, adding that the Japanese Cultural Day is an important opportunity to introduce university students to Japanese civilization.
