Memorandum of Understanding between Jordan University of Science and Technology and the Jordanian Pharmacists Association

 

Monday, the 20th Dec 2021 ,  the Jordan University of Science and Technology and the Jordanian Pharmacists Association signed a memorandum of understanding that frames the joint cooperation between the university and the Association .

The memorandum of understanding signed by the president of the university, Prof. Dr. Khaled Al-Salem and the president of the Jordanian Pharmacists Association , Dr. Zaid Rouhi Al-Kilani, stipulates holding a "professional diploma in pharmaceutical industries" aimed at supporting the pharmaceutical industry , providing it with qualified cadres, and offering training opportunities for the diploma graduate pharmacists in pharmaceutical institutions such as the pharmaceutical industry .

Al-Salem said that this memorandum comes out of the importance of joint cooperation and strengthening the fields of scientific collaboration between the university and the Syndicate, within the framework of the keenness and interest of both sides to develop the profession and keep abreast of scientific developments in pharmaceutical sciences to serve the medical sector and contribute to the development of the pharmaceutical industries. This will enable providing job opportunities for pharmacy graduates in the pharmaceutical industries ,  in line with the university's strategic goals in this regard.

Al-Kilani expressed his happiness with this partnership with the University of Science and Technology, which hosts many distinguished scientific competencies in various fields, and in the level achieved by the College of Pharmacy and the Center for Pharmaceutical Studies and its role in the development of pharmaceutical sciences.

The supervisor of the Diploma Program in Pharmaceutical Industries, Dr. Nadia Ghazal, indicated that the diploma program is one of the first of its kind in the Arab world for being comprehensive and covering all aspects of the pharmaceutical industry and the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) stipulated in international legislation and guidelines regulating the foundations of the cGMPs and deals with the practical aspects in pharmaceutical manufacturing.

The signing of the memorandum of understanding was attended by the Vice President of the Jordanian Pharmacists Association , Dr. Muhammad Abu Asab, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy at the university, Dr. Sayer Al-Azzam, the Director of the Center for Drug Studies, Dr. Mai Khanfar, and Dr. Bashar Al-Taani from the Faculty of Pharmacy
