Students’ Works Exhibition – Department of Design and Visual Communication

On behlaf of Prof Saeb Khresat the president of Jordan University of Science and Technology, the Vice-Presidents of the Jordan University of Science and Technology Professor Wael Taifour opened the Students' Works Exhibition for the Department of Design and Visual Communication in College of Architecture and Design. The activities of the exhibition started in the presence of the Dean of the College Dr. Hikmat Hammad, and the Department Chairman Dr. Shouib Al Qudah, with the participation of many academic staff, students, and community members.

The Vice-Presidents of the University, indicated the emergence of the Department of Design and Visual Communication the engagement efforts made by this department since its establishment in 2008.  Dr. Taifour said it is the responsibility of the University for graduating the competencies required by the labor market, which supply the industrial sectors with armed competencies with science, knowledge, leadership and creativity, based on the visions of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein to raise the level of education and embody the bonds of cooperation between the university and the labor market and enhance interaction and networking with public institutions and companies in the design and creativity field to prepare students to engage in the labor market locally, regionally and internationally.

In turn, the Dean of the College of Architecture and Design, Dr. Hikmat Hammad said that the College through its unique academic plans and programs is working on embodying the university's role in linking university education to comprehensive and sustainable national development, in addition to aligning the requirements of the labor market with educational achievement for students and improving design and creativity education.

Dr. Shouib Alqudah, explained the uniqueness of the Department of Design and Visual Communication through its academic program which includes four major tracks: Multimedia Design, Animation, Film Making, and Branding and Advertising. Through this combination, students are graduated with comprehensive knowledge and skills enabling them being positive community members and empowering them to work in many industrial and design sectors.

At the end of the exhibition, The Vice-Presidents, and the Dean thanked the academic staff and the students for their great efforts, the level of creativity, the positive attitude.
