The President of Jordan University of Science and Technology patronizes a Competition in Presenting Master Theses into Five Minutes


The president of Jordan University of Science and Technology, Professor Saeb Khreisat, patronizes the final ceremony of the five-minute Master's theses competition at the university level, which was organized by the faculty of the Graduate Studies in the University. This competition aims to encourage the postgraduate students to make an interactive presentation of their research proposals and to highlight the importance of their theses in less than five minutes.

Professor Khreisat asserted that the postgraduate students are the source of our interest in the university because they are a main factor of the scientific research. The president also showed that the faculty of Graduate Studies graduates competencies to lead the society and to achieve its goals. Moreover, he added that the postgraduate studies are one of the most important axes of the university strategies for the next five years which will ensure the qualitative and quantitative expansion of the graduate studies.

From his part, the Dean of the Graduate Studies, Dr. Burhan El-Din El-Bess, spoke about the role of the faculty of Graduate Studies in activating the scientific research, developing graduate programs, and creating a competitive environment among the students in line with the Royal vision in developing the higher education in Jordan.

Furthermore, the supervisor of the competition, Dr. Fadia Mias, the Deputy Dean of the Graduate Studies said that this competition is part of the efforts of the faculty in honing the skills of the graduated students in the university in which it is very essential in the labor market and increases the competitiveness that will lead to significant roles in the society that comes with the future vision of the university.

Dr.Mias also revealed that there were twenty postgraduate students who had been elected from several faculties in the university, and they were evaluated by a commission, consisting of Dr. Mahmoud Rifai, Dr. Sereen Bataina, Dr. Waseem Barham, and Dr. Mohamed Nazzal. Seven of the students were nominated for the final stage, and the best three students were selected according to the opinion of the committee. The wining students are:  Alaa Abdullah Fahmawi who won the first place is from the Faculty of Science and Arts. In the second place is Rand Ahed Al-wagfi from the Faculty of Pharmacy, and in the third place is Hadeel Al-Shurafa from the Faculty of Science and Arts. In addition to her third place, the student Rand Ahed Al-Waqfi from the Faculty of Pharmacy won the audience award.

At the end of the ceremony, which was attended by a number of deans, members of the teaching and administrative faculties, and the university students, certificates and prizes were handed over to the winners of the competition.
