Under the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Dr. Karem Al-Zoubi, in cooperation with the Blood Bank of the Founding King Abdulla Hospital, the Faculty of Pharmacy organized an awareness campaign on the importance of blood donation on Thursday 6/4/2017. A lecture was given by Dr. Wissam Al Sheyab, Head of Blood Bank in the Blue Hall (Faculty of Pharmacy), attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and a group of distinguished pharmacists and students. The lecturer explained conditions for blood donation including being a Jordanian citizen and being healthy, and that the weight should not be less than 65, in addition to be aged from 18 to 50, and that the hemoglobin from 13 to 16 mg/dl in males, and from 14 to 17 mg/dl in females. In addition to being free of chronic diseases such as stress, diabetes, cancer, hepatitis, blood diseases, AIDS, gonorrhea and others. The benefits of blood donation are that the body renews red blood cells in the body. This campaign is part of the health delivery project, which is being run by the students responsible for the campaign under the supervision of King Abdullah II Fund and Injaz Foundation. The activity was supervised by Dr. Mohammad Shawaqfeh from Faculty of Pharmacy.
