Chairman of The Joint Chiefs of Staff Visits Jordan University of Science and Technology

13 May — Chairman of The Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, visited Jordan University of Science and Technology on Wednesday, where he met with the university president, Professor Khaled El-Salem. The meeting focused on ways to strengthen cooperation between Jordan Armed Forces and the university in various academic, scientific, and training fields, in support of national interests and enhanced collaboration with academic institutions.

During the visit, Major General Al-Hunaiti received a briefing from the university president on the university's history, academic programs, and degrees offered, as well as its key achievements in education and scientific research. The presentation also highlighted the university's efforts to keep pace with modern technological advancements and support students' entrepreneurial and innovative projects.

Major General Al-Hunaiti stated that the visit reflects the Royal directives aimed at advancing comprehensive modernization and development within Jordan Armed Forces through effective strategic partnerships with universities and academic and scientific institutions. He noted that such cooperation contributes to strengthening scientific research, innovation, and the exchange of expertise and knowledge.

In the presence of several senior armed forces officers, university vice presidents, and college deans, Professor El-Salem also presented the university's notable achievements in international rankings and its advanced standing locally and regionally across several academic and research disciplines. He emphasized that these accomplishments reflect the quality of education and scientific research at the university, reaffirming its commitment to fostering an advanced educational and research environment and expanding partnerships with national institutions.

At the conclusion of the visit, Major General Al-Hunaiti praised the distinguished academic reputation achieved by Jordan University of Science and Technology at both the local and regional levels. He also commended the outstanding scientific and research contributions of its faculty members and students, describing them as an essential pillar supporting the Kingdom's development and modernization efforts across various sectors.
