Students from Jordan University of Science and Technology Lead the 2025 University Entrepreneurship Competition
Jordan University of Science and Technology topped the 2025 Entrepreneurship Competition for Jordanian university students after the MargiClear team secured first place during Global Entrepreneurship Week. The event was organized by the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan.
During the closing ceremony, Her Royal Highness honored the winning MargiClear team from Jordan University of Science and Technology, which includes medical students Sara Abu Al-Einen, Nour Al-Bazour, and Amer Maqableh, in recognition of their outstanding entrepreneurial project—one of the most distinguished initiatives participating this year.
The MargiClear project offers an innovative solution powered by an AI-based system capable of assessing tumor margins in real time during surgical procedures. This enables surgeons to make precise decisions during operations, reduces the need for additional surgeries, and contributes to improved recovery outcomes and higher-quality healthcare.
This innovation marks a significant step forward in integrating technology with medicine, providing a fast and reliable diagnostic tool that supports precision medicine applications. The project demonstrated exceptional merit throughout the judging phases—scientifically, practically, and in terms of its anticipated social impact.
The ceremony also recognized the Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects (CEIP) at Jordan University of Science and Technology for its role as a key partner in organizing Global Entrepreneurship Week and for its efforts in training students and building their entrepreneurial capacities. The center is considered one of the leading university incubators supporting the transformation of innovative ideas into scalable and investable projects through specialized training programs, workshops, and mentorship sessions.
The MargiClear team underwent an intensive series of training programs organized by the Center of Excellence, which helped develop their skills and transform their idea into a viable and scalable entrepreneurial project.
This achievement reflects Jordan University of Science and Technology's strong presence in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship and reinforces its position as a leading academic institution that places student empowerment and the development of entrepreneurial projects at the forefront of its mission. It also underscores the university's commitment to providing a supportive and motivating environment that enables students to translate their ideas into practical solutions that serve the community and strengthen the national innovation ecosystem.
