The President of the Jordan University of Science and Technology, Prof. Khalid El-Salem, received in his office at the university, His Excellency the Iraqi Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and the Iraqi National Liaison Officer with the International Atomic Energy Agency, Prof. Majed Al-Saadi, accompanied by the President of the Jordanian Atomic Energy Commission, His Excellency Prof. Khaled Toucan

Prof. El-Salem welcomed His Excellency the Minister and the accompanying delegation, stressing the depth of the historical brotherly relations that bind Jordan and brotherly Iraq, especially in the scientific and technological fields, which were established by the wise Hashemite leadership under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein and the Iraqi leadership over the past decades for the good of the Jordanian and Iraqi peoples and the achievement of common interests.

For his part, His Excellency Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi stated that Iraq is continuing to strengthen the bonds of cooperation and sharing in the scientific and industrial fields with the brothers in Jordan, in addition to benefiting from Jordanian scientific expertise to contribute in the coming stages and support Iraq's scientific programs in all fields.

The delegation, accompanied by the President of the University, visited the subcritical nuclear system on campus, where the Head of the Nuclear Engineering Department gave a full explanation of the work and principle of operation of the subcritical nuclear system, which aims to provide an opportunity for students of the Nuclear Engineering Department to conduct some experiments to study the physics of nuclear reactors in a safe environment. She pointed out that there are special procedures systems for the system to ensure adherence to the highest standards of nuclear safety and security in this facility
