JUST Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Jordan River Pharmaceutical Industries (JoRiver)
Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Joriver Pharmaceutical Industries (JoRiver), aiming to strengthen collaboration in training, capacity building, scientific research, and the development of specialized academic programs that support the pharmaceutical industry in Jordan and the region.
The MoU was signed on behalf of the university by Vice President Prof. Basheer Khasawneh, and on behalf of the company by its General Manager and Board Member, Dr. Rami Sabarini, in the presence of Dr. Reem Al-Khalili, Technical and Regulatory Affairs Director at JoRiver, and Prof. Qusai Al-Balass, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
The agreement provides training opportunities for pharmacy students under the Dual Studies and Internship programs, helping to enhance their skills and prepare them for the labor market through the integration of academic knowledge with practical training. It also includes organizing joint training courses, workshops, and scientific conferences, as well as the exchange of research and technical expertise in pharmacy, pharmaceutical, and biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
Prof. Khasawneh emphasized that the MoU reflects the university’s commitment to building strategic partnerships with the pharmaceutical industry, aligning educational outcomes with labor market needs, and reinforcing Jordan’s position as a key player in the pharmaceutical sector. Dr. Sabarini, in turn, expressed his pride in collaborating with JUST, praising its leading academic and research role at both the national and regional levels, and affirming the company’s commitment to leveraging its expertise and resources to support students and researchers, and to prepare a generation capable of innovation and global competitiveness.
This MoU comes as part of the joint strategy of both parties to foster stronger ties between academic institutions and the pharmaceutical industry, thereby advancing scientific research and promoting sustainable development in the fields of medicine and healthcare.
