Under the patronage of the university's Vice President, Prof. Ahmad Al-Ajlouni, the Water Diplomacy Center at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) successfully concluded the first day of the โSmart Food Systems Simulation Workshopโ today.
The opening ceremony featured welcome speeches from Dr. Mutawakil Obeidat, the Director of the Water Diplomacy Center; Dr. Majed Abu Zreig, the workshop organizer; and Dr. Gregory Kiker from the University of Florida, who highlighted the workshop's objectives. The workshop brought together 25 engineers from academic and governmental sectors, all committed to advancing climate-smart food systems. This event focuses on enhancing the understanding and application of modeling techniques in agriculture, with a particular emphasis on soil and water conservation in Jordanโs dryland regions.
The workshop is co-organized by Jordan University of Science and Technology and the University of Florida, with funding from the RAWABIT program of the UCN.
