Jordan University of Science and Technology: Changing the bachelor's program in veterinary medicine and surgery to “Doctor of Veterinary Medicine"
The Higher Education Council approved changing the Bachelor's program in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (BVM) at the Jordan University of Science and Technology to become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), starting from the first semester of the academic year 2024/2025.
The Dean of the College, Professor Sameeh Abutarbush , said that the change of the program came in line with the prevailing veterinary degree programs at the prestigious colleges of veterinary medicine in international universities, noting that the hours of practical training have been increased, as the final year of the program will be dedicated to this purpose in the new veterinary medicine teaching hospital.
Abutarbush stated that work is underway to change the number of years in the study plan to become six years instead of five years to obtain the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
