Jordan University of Science and Technology Launches PhD in Nursing Program Under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Muna Al-Hussein
Under the patronage of **Her Royal Highness Princess Muna Al-Hussein**, and represented by **His Excellency Professor Azmi Mahafzah**, Jordan's Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) officially launched its **Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing** program during a ceremony attended by **Professor Khalid El-Salem**, President of JUST; **Her Excellency Professor Rowaida Al-Maaitah**, Advisor to Her Royal Highness Princess Muna Al-Hussein; deans of nursing schools, representatives of healthcare institutions, and members of the University's academic and administrative community.
Representing Her Royal Highness, Professor Rowaida Al-maaitah delivered a message emphasizing that the launch of the PhD in Nursing program marks a significant milestone in advancing nursing education in Jordan. The message highlighted the nation's commitment to excellence, innovation, and investment in human capital, while recognizing nursing as a profession that embodies humanity, resilience, and hope, particularly in the face of global health challenges. It also underscored the critical role that doctoral-prepared nurses will play in advancing healthcare practice, strengthening scientific research, informing health policy, supporting digital transformation, and building resilient healthcare systems.
During the ceremony, Minister Mahafzah commended JUST for its continued academic and research excellence and praised the University's advanced educational and research infrastructure. He noted that the University has established itself as a leading institution in higher education through its commitment to innovation, quality, and excellence, particularly in the health sciences.
His Excellancy, Professor Khalid El-Salem expressed his appreciation for the continuous support of Her Royal Highness Princess Muna Al-Hussein for the nursing and midwifery professions and her longstanding efforts to advance nursing education nationally and internationally. He emphasized that the launch of the PhD in Nursing program represents a strategic investment in knowledge, human capital, and the future of healthcare.
Professor El-Salem explained that the program is designed to prepare academic and professional leaders capable of generating new knowledge, advancing evidence-based practice, conducting impactful research, and contributing to health policy and decision-making.
