Faculty of Computer and Information Technology Opens the 17th Edition of ICICS2026 with Broad International Research Participation in AI and Cybersecurity

The 17th International Conference on Information and Communication Systems (ICICS2026) was launched today, Monday, at Jordan University of Science and Technology, with a wide range of participation from researchers, academics, and experts from different countries around the world. The conference will continue for three days.

The conference's main objective is to provide a specialized scientific venue that brings together researchers and experts to exchange knowledge and discuss the latest research developments in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, the Internet of Things, software engineering, and modern communications, in addition to reviewing key developments in the information technology sector.

The conference was inaugurated on behalf of the University President by the Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology and Conference Chair, Professor Muneer Bani Yasin. In his opening remarks, he emphasized that the conference attracted many scientific research papers from different countries, all of which underwent rigorous peer review by specialized committees. A distinguished selection of high-quality research papers was chosen for presentation in parallel scientific sessions.

Professor Bani Yasin explained that ICICS2026 reflects the university's advanced role in supporting scientific research and strengthening cooperation among academic institutions at the international level. He emphasized that the university has become an active research hub in the region, contributing to the development of joint projects and establishing distinguished scientific partnerships in technology, communications, and artificial intelligence, thereby enhancing its presence and impact in the global academic arena.

The keynote speaker, Professor Omar Al-Jarrah, also delivered a scientific lecture titled:

Institutional AI: A Secure AI Ecosystem for Personalized Learning

During the lecture, he presented an advanced vision for employing institutional artificial intelligence to build a smart and secure educational environment that supports personalized learning, with a focus on security, privacy, and institutional governance of artificial intelligence.

In the second session, the focus was on cybersecurity, privacy, and digital forensics. The presented papers addressed the development of methods for detecting cyber threats and phishing attacks, distinguishing between authentic and AI-generated content, developing techniques for network intrusion detection, and studying the human factors that influence cybersecurity.

The third session addressed health informatics and applications of artificial intelligence in the medical field, presenting modern solutions and methods that support medical diagnosis and health data analysis, thereby improving the efficiency of healthcare services and enhancing the quality of care provided.

The opening session concluded by emphasizing that this international conference represents the prestigious scientific standing of Jordan University of Science and Technology as a regional and international center for research excellence and innovation, as well as its role in supporting scientific research and strengthening global academic partnerships.
