The President of Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), Prof. Khalid El-Salem, met today, Wednesday, with a delegation from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL) to explore ways to expand academic and research collaboration. The delegation included several academics and representatives from specialized scientific sectors, and the visit aimed to foster international partnerships and strengthen engineering and technology programs.
During the visit, the Faculty of Engineering at JUST and the Faculty of Engineering at UNL signed an agreement to enhance international cooperation through the establishment of a joint PhD program in Civil Engineering. The agreement was signed on behalf of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln by Dr. Lance C. Pérez, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and on behalf of Jordan University of Science and Technology by Dr. Duraid Dalalah, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. The delegation toured several university facilities, including engineering laboratories, research programs, and technological initiatives. They expressed their admiration for the advanced level and international reputation of JUST. Members of the delegation emphasized their eagerness to strengthen academic and research partnerships and to launch scientific and engineering projects that support innovation and technological development. The meeting was attended by Prof. Muna Abu Dalu, Vice President of the University; Prof. Duraid Dalalah, Dean of the Facultyof Engineering; Prof. Samer Al-Bashir, Director of the International Relations Office; and Dr. Wasim Barham, Head of the Civil Engineering Department.
