Scientific Day of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine

As part of its ongoing efforts to promote scientific knowledge and keep pace with modern developments in animal disease diagnostics, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine organized its Scientific Day titled:
“Modern Diagnostic Techniques in Veterinary Medicine and Animal Health”
on Monday, 17/11/2025, at Al-Farabi Auditorium, with the participation of distinguished experts and specialists from Jordan and abroad, as well as a large audience of veterinarians.
The event opened with a welcoming speech by Prof. ’Myasser Alekish, Dean of the Faculty, who warmly greeted the attendees and highlighted the importance of showcasing the latest technologies used in veterinary diagnostics and their role in improving veterinary services and advancing scientific research.
Prof. Ahmad Al-Majali, the representative of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) for the Middle East region, delivered a speech in which he emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in developing diagnostic systems and epidemiological surveillance.
From the private sector, Dr. Samah Al-Jubour, representing the Jordan Biological Company for Import and Export, delivered a speech addressing the vital role of supporting companies in enhancing modern laboratory diagnostic technologies.
Faculty members Prof. Mohammad Ababneh, Prof. Saad Gharaibeh, and Dr. Ibrahim Al-Zuheir presented lectures covering the latest technologies in diagnosing reproductive disorders in animals and their impact on improving productivity, advanced methods for detecting and diagnosing poultry diseases and the importance of early diagnosis in reducing production losses, and the most recent laboratory applications used to diagnose diseases in food animals.
The event also featured guest speakers Ms. Danuta Radzio and Dr. Alexey Kolbasenko, who presented lectures showcasing the latest global laboratory assays and molecular techniques, highlighting the significance of modern diagnostic technologies and their role in improving farm management efficiency.
The Scientific Day concluded with the Faculty reaffirming its commitment to adopting and promoting the latest scientific technologies and enhancing collaboration with national and international institutions, contributing to the advancement of the livestock sector and veterinary medicine.
