February 10 /// Today, Monday, the Jordan University of Science and Technology and the Greater Irbid Municipality signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing joint cooperation in the academic, research and service fields, which contributes to the development of the local community and achieving sustainability.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the university by its president, Prof. Khalid El-Salem, and on behalf of the Greater Irbid Municipality by its president, Dr. Nabil Ahmed Al-Kofhi, in the presence of a number of officials from both sides. The memorandum aims to provide practical training opportunities for university students in the municipality's facilities, in addition to implementing joint research projects in the fields of urban development, environmental sustainability, and resource management. It also includes cooperation in organizing workshops and training courses and exchanging expertise between the two parties. El-Salem stressed that this agreement comes within the framework of the university's keenness to enhance partnership with local institutions, which benefits students and contributes to preparing them for the labor market through practical experience and field training. For his part, Al-Kofhi expressed the importance of this cooperation in supporting development and environmental initiatives in the city of Irbid, pointing out the municipality's keenness to provide an appropriate training environment for students and enhance cooperation in various areas of common interest. It is worth noting that the memorandum is valid for one year, with the possibility of renewal with the approval of both parties, and includes mechanisms to follow up on the implementation of its provisions and evaluate its outcomes in order to achieve the desired goals.
