October 31, The project titled "The Development of Efficient Social Accountability Strategies for Better Health Outcomes in Jordan," under the patronage of Prof. Khaled El-Salem, President of Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), concluded successfully. The initiative was executed by the university's Center for Sustainable Development Studies and Technology (CSDST) and is part of a larger project co-funded by the European Union Delegation to Jordan and the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development (AECID). Ms. Cristina Gutierrez Hernandez, Head of Spanish Cooperation in Jordan, was present to mark the occasion. Prof. El-Salem emphasized that the project represents a significant step for the center in addressing community needs through sustainable development initiatives. He noted that the university's role extends beyond education and research, as it actively contributes to local community development. He also highlighted the university's commitment to collaborating with various entities to achieve sustainable development goals, thereby enhancing its external partnerships.
During the closing ceremony, Dr. Amer Bani Amer, Director General of Al Hayat Center - Rased, thanked the university for its role in connecting academic and community efforts. Prof. Ammar Almaaytah detailed the project's foundations, including training on social accountability and fostering public participation in healthcare evaluation. The event concluded with a discussion session in which project managers addressed queries, and the university president presented awards to partners and supporters, celebrating the collaborative achievements of the initiative.
