The Center for Sustainable Development Studies and Technology (CSDST) at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) has been awarded a project aimed at developing tools to enhance social accountability in healthcare institutions. This project is part of the "Enhancing Social Accountability and Empowering Civil Society Organizations to Achieve Good Governance" initiative, co-funded by the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and the European Union through the Hayat-Rased Center. Under the patronage of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration, Mr. Tawfiq Krishan, represented by the Secretary General of the Ministry, Dr. Nidal Abu Orabi, and with the participation of His Excellency the Spanish Ambassador in Amman, Mr. Miguel de Lucas, and Mr. Patrick Lambrechts, Head of Cooperation at the European Union Delegation in Jordan, Secretary General of the Ministry of Political and Parliamentary Affairs, Dr. Ali Al-Khawaldeh, and the Secretary General of the Associations Registry, Mr. Taha Al-Maghariz, along with the integrity project team at Hayat-Rased Center. This agreement was signed between the Center for Sustainable Development Studies and Technology (CSDST) at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) and Hayat-Rased Center. This agreement marks a commitment from all parties to strengthen collaboration and achieve the project's objectives. Prof. Ammar AlMaaytah, Director of the Center for Sustainable Development Studies and Technology, signed the agreement on behalf of Prof. Khalid El-Salem, the President of Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST). Prof. AlMaaytah highlighted the university's role as an incubator for scientific and community projects conducted by its faculties and centers. He emphasized that the mission and objectives of the (CSDST) align with the strategic vision of Jordan University of Science and Technology, which includes the dissemination of knowledge, community leadership, development, and the creation of an enabling environment for excellence, creativity, and innovation through effective local and international partnerships. Prof. AlMaaytah stated that the project will be implemented by the center's staff in partnership with local community institutions. Its goal is to develop community accountability tools that enhance the outcomes of healthcare institutions through various activities within specific timeframes. Concluding the signing ceremony, Prof. AlMaaytah expressed gratitude to Hayat-Rased Center for their constructive cooperation and continuous support. He highlighted the center's active involvement in projects, initiatives, and studies that serve the local community and contribute to achieving sustainable development goals. |
