Professor Dr. May Mohamed Bakkar from the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences at the Jordan University of Science and Technology has been awarded the "Educator of the Year" Award in the field of contact lenses in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa for the year 2023. The award is presented annually by the International Association of Contact Lens Educators (IACLE) in recognition of her scientific and research achievements in optometry and contact lenses. The Educator of the Year Award in the field of contact lenses is considered one of the prestigious awards given to outstanding teachers and researchers in the field of contact lenses. This award aims to encourage creativity in disseminating excellent education and to motivate excellence in teaching contact lens techniques. The award is presented annually at a special ceremony held alongside the International Scientific Conference of the Association, which was held this year in Birmingham, United Kingdom. The International Association of Contact Lens Educators (IACLE) includes a large number of experts, distinguished individuals, and innovators in teaching contact lenses from various parts of the world. Professor Dr. May Bakkar holds the rank of Professor in the field of optometry from the Jordan University of Science and Technology. She obtained her master's and doctoral degrees in optometry from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. She is a fellow of the International Association of Contact Lens Educators. |
