“Global Environmental and Occupational Hub” Activities Start at Jordan University of Science and Technology


Jordan University of Science and Technology began the activities of the “Global Environmental and Occupational Hub Project” in the Middle East and North Africa (GEO Health Hub), in cooperation with the University of California San Diego, and research funding from the American National Institute of Health (NIH), with the participation of a number of researchers and interested people from government institutions.

The project, which is the first of its kind in the Middle East region, aims to study the effects of climate change on health in the Middle East and North Africa, in addition to building capacity in the field of environmental health, especially with regard to the risks caused by climate change, and creating policies that aim at reducing the health effects of climate change.

Vice President of the University, Prof. Sarhan Haddad, said that the university has worked to build a wide network of international relations with major universities, scientific and academic institutes and specialized scientific research centers, with the aim of contributing to the global effort aimed at facing challenges and crises facing human life, noting that this meeting is what It is only an affirmation of this orientation and a commitment to the goals that the university is working to achieve, believing in its role in building and serving society.
